Captain-Qualified Pilots
We appreciate the value of having captain qualified pilots in both the left and right seats. Although Up Aviation's pilots often serve as second-in-command with our clients, our pilots are captain qualified* with extensive experience as PIC. This arrangement exceeds FAA requirements and helps to ensure the highest level of qualifications, experience and safety.
Top Pilot Ratings
We have well designed systems in place to ensure due diligence as we continuously build and maintain our database of pilots. Our pilots are 12-month current for both domestic and international trip coverage. In order to fly with Up Aviation pilots must submit, at a minimum, a current 1st Class Medical License, FAA Pilots’ License, Part 91 (61.58) or Part 135 or recurrent certificates, with complete ROTs. Additional client-specific training requirements can be built into our system & tracked as well, including things like CRM, HAZMAT, International Procedures, customer service or any other internal requirements that are unique to a particular flight department. We also take the extra step of verifying all license/certifications, type ratings and any incidents/accidents ourselves directly with the FAA. Once the checks are all clear, our pilots are ready to fly.
Pilot Selection Process
Our pilots undergo thorough screening and vetting to ensure we provide our clients with the most highly qualified and experienced professionals. Among numerous requirements, every pilot on our roster must pass a criminal background check and sign a confidentiality agreement.
We continuously update our roster, recruiting actively, gathering referrals, and building a top-tier database of crew members. Just as you wouldn’t fly without completing your checklist, we never assign a pilot to your trip without first completing ours.
These detailed procedures are managed through our exclusive CrewTrac© system, guaranteeing accuracy and consistency in screening, hiring, and ongoing documentation tracking.
